North South Pipeline Carrier 2 - Botswana

Project Background / Scope of Work

Botswana nsc

The town of Palapye is located on the main highway from Gaborone to Francistown, and is approx. 270km. from Gaborone. The road is surfaced along the entire main road and is therefore easily accessible. From Palapye, the route of the new pipeline runs parallel with the existing North-South Carrier 1 pipeline as is located approx. 15m from the centerline of the existing pipe on the western side. There is currently an existing track following the NSC1 line which will eventually become the new Maintenance Road. Apart from undulating ground conditions in certain areas, access to the new location is fairly unproblematic. The site of the new Moralane BPT is located approx. 30km. in the bush, just before the main surfaced road which runs from the town of Serule to Selebi-Phikwe. Therefore good access is available from both ends of the project.
